Saturday 8th October

London airport bus drivers are wonderful ours squeezed around 40 people on and manhandled our luggage for us!!!

Muriel and Susan spoke nicely to Adrian of excess baggage at Heathrow and he performed an amazing feat  and opened Susan's case so she is smiling now and won't smell so bad on our return.

Jennie and Faith arrived safely and we booked, drank some coffee and did a little shopping to replace the items confiscated at security!!

Flight went well and we had a special announcement on landing wishing the UK Guides good luck in our endeavours in Russia with a little round of applause from the English speakers.

Passport control was smooth as was customs, all sailing through the green channel.

Taxi firm contacted us on landing and were ready for us

WE have arrived in Russia!!!!!

Hotel checkin in was a protracted process but they did have rooms for us once we understood the complexities of the lift.  A little like hogwarts!

Now for the beds -  oops  -  only doubles  - we are going to be really good friends by the morning  - we hope!

One of of team was caught in the act, being the bar, she said she was looking for milk!!!

A quick turn around and out to dinner,  Nicholi was our waiter, a charming Russian who looked after us really well.
